Motor Carrier Escrow Accounts

Customers may open escrow accounts with TxDOT to pay for fees associated with oversize/overweight permits, temporary registration, and motor carrier registration.

How to Open an Escrow Account

• Obtain a six-digit account number from the Motor Carrier Division. If you do not currently have a customer account number, contact the Motor Carrier Division to be assigned a number.
• Read and sign the Letter of Agreement.
• Determine how much money you wish to deposit in the escrow account. An initial minimum deposit of $305.00 is required per deposit. Acceptable payment methods are:
  • cashier’s check
  • money order
  • personal or company check
  • MasterCard/Visa
• Complete the Deposit for Escrow Account payment slip.
• Submit the Letter of Agreement, Deposit for Escrow Account, and payment to:
