Raymond E. Stotzer, Jr., P.E., graduated
from Texas A&M with a degree in civil
engineering. He joined the department in
1947 as a field engineer. During his 42
years with the department, he served as a
county resident engineer, a supervising
resident engineer and a district engineer.
Mr. Stotzer was named "Citizen of the Year" in 1984 by the North San Antonio
Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Luther DeBerry Award in 1985 in
recognition of his outstanding contributions to the State of Texas in the field
of transportation. He became the State Highway Engineer-Director in 1986 and
served in that position until his death in October 1989. |
