Mark G. Goode, Jr., P.E., graduated from
Texas A&M in 1947 with a degree in civil
engineering. He went to work for the State
Highway Department that same year as a field
engineer in the Dallas District. During his
39 year career he held numerous positions
including resident engineer, assistant
district engineer and district engineer. He
also served seven years as the department's
assistant engineer-director for operations.
Mr. Goode became the State Highway Engineer-Director in 1980 and served in
that position until he retired in 1986. While serving in that position, he
received the MacDonald Award, the highest award presented by the American
Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. The Texas Section of
the American Society of Civil Engineers also presented him with their "Service
to the People Award" in recognition of his community activities. |
