The need for conducting a partnering workshop is determined by the district
engineer, division or office director. Contributing factors in making
this decision may include:
- project complexity,
- the impact on the traveling public,
- high-profile projects,
- a high degree of risk for citizen complaints, or
- contract requirements such as:
- Road User Cost (RUC), or
- coordination between multiple parties.
Facilitator Selection
Once the decision is made to conduct a partnering workshop, a facilitator
must be selected. Only those external facilitators from the approved
partnering

vendor list

requirements outlined in the
partnering specifications [pdf, 13 pages, 40kb] may be selected.
TxDOT or contractor facilitators may
also be selected. All facilitators should conduct workshops in accordance with the
approved partnering workshop modules.
