Note: The department has discontinued the use of the EBS Software Package
v2.2. This software has been replaced with a bid item index which contains the
bid item data for each project for given letting month.
The files are provided in a text format. This format should be compatible
with most software applications such as Excel or Lotus.
The files are also formatted to be used as a computer printout suitable for
submission with the bidding proposal.
At the present time, projects that have addenda affecting the bid items will
have a new text file loaded to the Internet. This file will list all the bid
items for the project. In the near future this process will be modified to
provide only those items that have been added and advise which items were
deleted.
Instruction to Bidders on New Electronic Bid Items
To access the new bid item data files please follow these steps.
- Click on
Bid Item Index.
- To download the file of items and quantities for a project, click on the
control number or CCSJ of the project. You will be prompted to save the
file. Save the file in the folder of your choice. Note: Make sure
that the bid item file is being saved as a TEXT file and not an html or
other type file. Saving the file as an html file will cause a run time error
if used with the Excel spreadsheet below. The Item File can be opened in
most software applications. The file is in a text format. Some applications
may require adjustments to get the information to display correctly.
- The department is providing an Excel spreadsheet, which contains several
macros, designed to correctly display the bid item data.
To Use the Excel Spreadsheet
- Download the Excel spreadsheet to a subdirectory on your local machine.
- Download and save the Bid Item Files from the
Bid Item Index.

Control – L. You will be prompted to select the project you wish to view.
- After finishing modification, save the modified ebs.xls file to a new
Excel spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet is very basic. It will extend the bid items after the unit
price has been entered and it will also total the items.
