Testimony on Federal Funding Solutions

On September 20, 2006, Texas Transportation Commission Chair Ric Williamson addressed the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Commission. Chairman Williamson's testimony, titled "The Federal Surface Transportation System: Options for the Future," focused on several key transportation issues, including:

  • improving the reliability of federal funds,
  • increasing the flexibility of federal funds,
  • adapting to federal rescissions,
  • streamlining the federal environmental review process,
  • reforming federal earmarking,
  • maintaining the federal surface transportation system, and
  • engaging the private sector.
