Purpose The City of Seguin, in conjunction with TxDOT is proposing to widen Cordova Road (CR 108) from SH 46 to SH 123 in the City of Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas. The purpose of this meeting is to present the proposed project and receive public comment.
Description

Currently, Cordova Road is a 2-lane local arterial roadway with an existing right-of-way width varying from 50 to 110 feet. Proposed improvements along the 3.48-mile-long corridor between SH 46 and SH 123 include widening the roadway to 4 lanes with a center-turn lane or raised median, adding a shared use path on both sides of the roadway for both pedestrians and bicyclists, realigning at SH 46 and Three Oaks Road to create a traditional four-way intersection, and realigning Cordova Road near SH 123 to avoid impacts to the Big Red Barn and existing electrical substation. The new right-of-way width would vary from 120 to 190 feet.

Although additional right-of-way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the City of Seguin offices at the address listed below.

The proposed project is anticipated to impact the following historic property protected under Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966: 1920 Cordova Road (Property ID 56087). This is a preliminary determination subject to further review. The project will also be subject to review under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; the public is invited to provide information on any historic properties that might be affected by the project.

Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the City of Seguin (205 N River Street, Seguin, TX 78155), 830-379-3212. Project information is available at https://www.seguintexas.gov/1320/Cordova-Road-Improvements. This information also will be available for inspection at the meeting.
