Purpose The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments. The project is proposing to widen FM 528 from a two-lane to a four-lane divided roadway from Gordon Street (BS 35) to Loop 409 (SH 35 Bypass) in Brazoria County, Texas. The virtual and in-person meeting will consist of the same narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment.
Description

The proposed project would reconstruct and widen FM 528 from a two-lane to a four-lane divided roadway with a 30-foot raised median, curb and gutter with drainage ditches, and shared-use paths. The project would extend for approximately 0.6 mile along FM 528 from Gordon Street (BS 35) to Loop 409 (SH 35 Bypass) in Brazoria County, Texas.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require approximately three acres of additional right of way and potentially displace three residences and one non-residential structure. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition, may be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling, right-of-way project manager at 832-244-5612 or at the TxDOT Brazoria County Area Office by calling 979-864-8500.

Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for review Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Houston District Office, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, Texas 77007 or at the TxDOT Brazoria Area Office, 18671 FM 523, Angleton, Texas 77515.
