Purpose The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project and receive public input. The virtual component and the in-person open house will consist of the same pre-recorded presentation, project exhibits and informative materials, plus an opportunity to provide comments.
Description

The proposed project would be constructed in two separate segments. The first segment (CSJ: 3510-06-027) is from SH 249 to Kuykendahl Road, and the proposal is to widen SH 99 from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway between SH 249 and Kuykendahl Road in Harris County, Texas. The proposed facility would consist of six 12-foot main lanes (three in each direction), and 10-foot inside and outside shoulders. The main lanes would be widened to the inside and the cable barrier and grassy median would be removed and replaced with a concrete traffic barrier. The bridges at Hufsmith-Kohrville Road and BNSF railroad would be widened to the outside. Frontage lanes consist of two 12-foot lanes and are located in various sections throughout the project limits.

The second segment (CSJ: 3510-06-019) is from Kuykendahl Road to Holzwarth Road. In this section, TxDOT is proposing to widen SH 99 from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway between Kuykendahl Road and Holzwarth Road in Harris County, Texas. The proposed facility would include six 12-foot-wide main lanes (three in each direction), two 12-foot-wide frontage lanes in sections, and 10-foot-wide outside and inside shoulders. The main lanes would be widened to the inside and the cable barrier and grassy median would be removed and replaced with a concrete traffic barrier. The bridge at Rothwood Road and UPRR railroad would be widened to the outside.
