Notice of availability of final environmental impact statement and record of decision (FEIS/ROD)

Purpose This notice advises the public that TxDOT has issued a combined final environmental impact statement and record of decision (FEIS/ROD) for the I-35 Capital Express Central Project and that the combined FEIS/ROD is available for review.
Description

The FEIS/ROD identifies the selected alternative and signifies the completion of the environmental review process. The selected alternative would improve I-35 from US 290 East to US 290 West/SH 71 in Travis County, Texas. The FEIS/ROD also includes an evaluation of the project’s impacts on parks and historic properties under Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966.

The FEIS/ROD is on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Austin District Office, 7901 N I-35, Austin, TX 78753, phone number 512-832-7000. It is also available online at My35CapEx.com.

Memorandum of Understanding The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
