| Purpose | TxDOT is conducting an in-person open house with a virtual option to share information and gather input from the public on proposed improvements on Amarillo Boulevard (BI-40) from I-40 0.8 miles west of Helium Road to SL 279 (SW 9th Street) in Potter County, Texas. A TxDOT staff member will deliver a presentation at both in-person open house meetings. Questions will be answered by staff during the open house portion of the meeting. A copy of the same presentation will be available in the virtual open house meeting which will be posted on this page at the time and date above. |
| Description | The proposed project would consist of safety improvements to the existing Amarillo Blvd. (BI-40D). This includes modifying existing median crossover (reconstruct, remove, and/or relocate), construct turn lanes, extend limits of safety illumination, construct median barriers, and construct continuous sidewalk or shared use path. | Memorandum of Understanding | As provided for by 23 CFR 450.212, 23 CFR 450.318, and Appendix A to 23 CFR Part 450, the results or decisions of this Planning and Environmental Linkages Study may be incorporated into or used as part of the review of one or more projects under the National Environmental Policy Act, which would be carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 USC 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
