Purpose TxDOT's Amarillo District is proposing to expand US 54 from FM 2677 to the Oklahoma State Line in Sherman County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public meeting on the proposed project with in-person options. The same information and exhibits will be shared at both in-person meetings and on this webpage.
Description TxDOT's Amarillo District is developing design schematics, environmental documents and studies for US 54 from FM 2677 to the Oklahoma State Line in Sherman County, Texas. The project aims to upgrade US 54 from a 2-lane undivided roadway to a 4-lane divided roadway with a median. The project will evaluate improvements to cross streets and will remove existing rest stops and consolidate these areas to one new truck parking location. These improvements will help increase the overall safety of the corridor and add capacity. No additional right of way is needed and no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling 806-356-3299.
Accessibility The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact Jason Britsch at 806-672-8585 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Friday, Nov. 10, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
