Purpose The purpose of this meeting is to provide updates and receive comments on proposed revisions to the 2023-2026 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The projects in TxDOT’s Amarillo District affected by the revision include upgrading US 87 in Hartley and Moore counties from a two-lane to a four-lane divided highway. The revisions include increased funding from the 2024 UTP and moving the project in Hartley County to FY 2025 to group with Moore County section.
Description

The Rural TIP includes all regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. As such, these meetings offer the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. A project in the Rural TIP is a project coming to your community. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

The Rural TIP meetings are being held pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the program. A short presentation and exhibits showing how the Rural TIP operates and projects included in it will be displayed at the public meeting.

Accessibility The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate in the virtual public meeting, please contact Amarillo District PIO officer at 806-356-3256. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the TxDOT to arrange.
