TxDOT is providing an in-person public meeting option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to view the same information delivered in the online public meeting, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. Attendees may come and go at their convenience; there will be no formal presentation.

Purpose The TxDOT Abilene District is conducting a virtual public meeting with an in-person option to share information and gather input from the public regarding improvements to FM 707 (Beltway S) from FM 89 (Buffalo Gap Road) to US 83 in the city of Abilene and Taylor County.
Description

The meeting is to discuss improvements to this 2.6-mile segment of FM 707 aimed at improving safety and mobility along the corridor for all modes of traffic – vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle. TxDOT hopes to obtain feedback from the public on corridor issues and potential improvements for FM 707 in this area. Initial project studies would evaluate and analyze improvements based on the public’s input while avoiding and minimizing impacts to landowners, the community, and the environment.

Accessibility The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact Lisa Tipton, TxDOT Public Information Officer, at 325-643-0431 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Monday, Nov. 21, 2022. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange.
