TIGER Grant Applications

As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, $1.5 billion in Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grants was made available for surface transportation capital improvements. States may receive between $0 and $300 million and no funding is guaranteed.

Five projects were submitted by TxDOT to the Secretary of Transportation in September 2009.

I-35 in Waco
SH 349 in Midland and Martin Counties
SH 35 in San Patricio County
South Orient Rail Line Rehabilitation
U.S. 281 in Comal County

Other governmental entities also submitted projects. TxDOT provided them with letters of support.
