Covering eight counties, the Houston Region Freight Rail Study is part of a Statewide Freight Corridor study program to assist TxDOT in the development of a master plan for improving the movement of freight throughout the state.
The Texas Transportation Commission commissioned the Statewide Freight Rail Study to help the legislature understand the extent of the state's rail infrastructure needs and the associated investment required.
