Transportation Study: I-45N

The scope of this study is 8 miles of Interstate Highway (IH) 45N from Farm-to-Market (FM) 830 to FM 1375. (Construction limits are from FM 830 to the Walker County Line.)

Existing Conditions

The current roadway is 4 lanes.

Proposed Improvements

  • Widen the freeway from four lanes to six lanes.
  • Convert some two-lane frontage roads to one-way.
  • Widen shoulders.
  • Reconfigure ramps.
  • Approximately 1.9 acres of additional right-of-way is required but no displacements will be necessary.
