I-820 Loop

I-820 is a loop around Fort Worth that passes through 11 cities - Benbrook, White Settlement, Lake Worth, Saginaw, Haltom City, North Richland Hills, Hurst, Richland Hills, Kennedale, Forest Hill and Fort Worth. TxDOT has been developing and widening I-820 since 1949. As funding is identified, future widening is planned on the east loop from I-35W to I-20.

TxDOT is studying the use of public-private partnerships to accelerate construction on I-820, SH 121/183 and portions of I-35W by combining express lanes and high occupancy vehicle lanes within a comprehensive development agreement.

The map provided below shows past and future projects with the greatest impact on this corridor. A timeline of the highway's development and its 2010 usage are also provided.
