I-30 Corridor Study
The IH 30 Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Assessment project is
intended to develop a locally preferred plan of action to address transportation
problems along the east-west corridor of IH 30 between Oakland Blvd. and
proposed SH 161 (near existing NW 19th Street) in Tarrant and Dallas Counties,
Texas as outlined in the study area map. The study process follows federal
procedures, which call for collaborative development of transportation projects
with local communities and all involved agencies.
TxDOT hired Halff Associates in August 2005 to perform the study as the
principal consultant for the design schematic and environmental assessment. In
2003, the City of Arlington hired the Joint Venture of Graham Associates and
Schriekel-Rollins to develop the "3+ Bridges" project to improve IH 30 from
Cooper St. to Ballpark Way in Arlington. The North Central Texas Council Of
Governments (NCTCOG) serves as the study’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
See the IH30 Project Overview Slides for limits of these projects.
