Motorists will have more speed consistency as they drive on a couple of state roadways running through Wichita Falls.

Spur 447 (Kell Boulevard) from the Falls Flyover to Scott Street is now posted at a 45 MPH maximum....up from 35 MPH.

The Emanual Davis Overpass from Scott Street to Harding Street is now 50 MPH. This is an increase from 35 MPH.

Speed limit studies were conducted on Spur 447 and the Overpass by the Texas Department of Transportation. By calculating the 85^th percentile speed along with other factors including driveway density, engineers with the state and city agreed on the new limits. The new speed limits will take effect immediately and have been posted by TxDOT sign crews.
