Nickname Found for "Name the Interchange" October 10, 2005

The new nickname for the US 82/277/287/281 Direct Connect Interchange has been selected. It will be unveiled at a press conference at the TxDOT District Office tomorrow afternoon. It and the name of the winner will be revealed for the first time since the contest began in September.

Local media including KAUZ-TV, KFDX-TV, FOX-18, UPN-35, KSWO-TV, Clear Channel Radio- NIN, Newstalk 1290, Lonestar 103, and The Buzz ran extensive public service announcements throughout the campaign. All of the Television News Teams along with the Times Record News ran several stories enticing the public to participate. And they did in droves. There is no doubt the help we received from the local TV & Radio stations along with the newspapers in the area were responsible for the success of the campaign. And because of that TxDOT received more than 700 entries from people all over Texoma.
