Kell West Extension Lanes Set to Open

WICHITA FALLS - Less than a week after a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Kell West Extension Project, westbound lanes will open to traffic today. Minor work such as striping and sign hanging is wrapping up, allowing drivers to access the westbound lanes sometime late this afternoon.

Eastbound lanes of the Kell West Extension are slated to open sometime Friday afternoon barring a weather-related setback.

This opening will mark the completion of the overall $101-million Kell Freeway, stretching from US 287/281 west through FM 369.
