The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will temporarily close portions of Interstate 35 and detour traffic at the I-35/Loop 340 interchange construction project, Sunday through Wednesday nights, February 26-March 1, 2006. The closures and detours will allow construction crews to temporarily relocate median barriers and to permanently install steel beams on the direct connector bridge that will span Interstate 35 at Loop 340. The work will be done according to the following schedule (weather permitting). Sunday - 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM: - Northbound mainlane (NBML) IH 35 traffic will be temporarily restricted to outside lane.
Monday & Tuesday - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM: - NBML IH 35 will be reduced to one lane and traffic detoured to southbound mainlanes (SBML) IH35
- SBML IH 35 will be reduced to one lane and detoured to southbound frontage road (SBFR) via Exit 330 (SH 6/LP 340)
- Northbound frontage road (NBFR) traffic will be detoured to US 77
- Westbound SH 6 traffic to SB IH 35 will be detoured to Bagby and loop back
- Eastbound SH 6 traffic to NB IH 35 will be detoured to US 77 and loop back
- Southbound IH 35 traffic from New Road will be detoured to Bagby and loop back
Wednesday - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM: - Northbound mainlane (NBML) IH 35 traffic will be temporarily restricted to outside lane
Motorists are advised to observe all warning signs and traffic control devices in the project area. Significant traffic congestion and delays can be expected during the overnight hours of this beam-setting operation. This $40 Million interchange reconstruction is projected for completion in the Spring of 2007. |
