TxDOT: Project Updates

UNDATED - Here's a quick look at events and work planned in the Tyler District in the coming week:

Saturday lane closure planned for IH-20

GREGG COUNTY - Construction crews are scheduled ON Saturday, Oct. 31 (tomorrow) to close one lane on westbound Interstate 20 between FM 2087 and SH 31 for final punch-list work related to the completion of the bridge decking and resurfacing project in that location.

Motorists intending to travel IH-20 westbound from Longview or Kilgore are encouraged to enter at SH 31 or SH 42 to avoid delays.

Also this week in Longview, TxDOT maintenance crews on Monday are scheduled to begin several days of seal coat operations on US 259 in Longview, between North Loop 281 and FM 1844.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and motorists should be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.

Pavement repair work planned for IH 20, FM 14

SMITH COUNTY - Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews are scheduled on Monday to begin two days of pavement repairs on Interstate 20 and FM 14.

The repair on IH 20 will be westbound near Harvey Road (MM 554), followed by work on the FM 14 overpass at IH 20.

Daytime lane closures, and, for the work on FM 14, ramp closures, will be in effect while the work is in progress. Flaggers will control traffic on FM 14.

TxDOT to close FM 279 near Edom, Ben Wheeler

VAN ZANDT COUNTY - Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews on Tuesday are scheduled to close FM 279 just east of the Ben Wheeler city limits to replace a culvert.

Then Wednesday, crews will close FM 279 just east of FM 314 North in Edom for the same operation. Each closure should last approximately 10 hours. Detours will be posted.

Resurfacing operations continue on FM 1798

RUSK COUNTY - Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue resurfacing operations on FM 1798 south of Henderson, between US 79 south of Henderson and FM 225 in Laneville.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

Rehabilitation work continues on RM 2588

HENDERSON COUNTY - Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue rehabilitating parts of RM 2588 south of LaRue, between US 175 and the Henderson-Anderson county line.

Crews will be tearing the road down to the base materials and rebuilding the roadway.
