Nolana Loop (FM 3461) Project

The Nolana Loop (FM 3461) project is a partnership between TxDOT and the City of McAllen to widen to six lanes five miles of FM 3461 from US 281 Expressway in Pharr to FM 2220 (Ware Road) in McAllen. For more information on the project, please read the fact sheet or view the informational video.

  • Project limits: US 281 Expressway in Pharr to FM 2220 (Ware Road) in McAllen
  • Project distance: five miles
  • Project description: widen to six lanes with a raised median

Costs

  • Construction cost: $13.5 million
  • Project funding (design and construction):
    • Federal funds - $11,748,000.00
    • State funds - $2,688,438.00
    • City participation- $1,065,562.00
