Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on the Rise
This four-lane bridge has a pedestrian walkway on one side and is 15,770 feet long.
The crossing is also known locally as Puente Internacional Reynosa-Pharr and Nuevo Amanecer.
Beginning September 1, 1996, all northbound commercial vehicles were directed to this bridge from the McAllen-Hidalgo-Reynosa Bridge. Southbound commercial vehicles are permitted to use either bridge to enter Mexico.
More information is available from the City of Pharr.
This bridge sees a mix of commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles and pedestrians. Identified needs include a comprehensive review of possible intersection improvements and increased signage.
At the end of the study, improvements will be recommended based upon identified needs of the border crossings. If you would like to comment on the study, please email us.
