I-410 - US 281 San Pedro Avenue Interchange Study

TxDOT is conducting a feasibility study to identify potential improvements in the vicinity of the Interstate 410 to US 281 San Pedro Avenue interchange in Bexar County, Texas. The study area is within a corridor that ranks among the most congested roadways in Texas. The primary goal for TxDOT is to improve traffic flow on I-410 and US 281.

Key study elements involve the following:

  • Engage study area neighborhoods, businesses, transportation providers, and the general public about transportation problems and possible solutions
  • Analyze existing traffic conditions and model future conditions under a “no-build” scenario and with various improvement options
  • Develop conceptual schematic designs of potential transportation improvements
  • Provide technical memorandums documenting methodology, results, conclusions, and next steps

Following the study, should feasible improvement solutions be identified, TxDOT will consider advancing them to the next stage of project development. No construction activity is currently planned.
