SH 99 Grand Parkway segment D - US 59 South to I-10 West

Segment D is an existing 17.4-mile, partially controlled access toll road from US 59 South (the Southwest Freeway) in Sugar Land north to I-10 West (the Katy Freeway) near Katy. This segment is complete and has been open to the public since Aug. 31, 1994. Mainlane overpasses from US 59 South to the Westpark Tollway were constructed by Fort Bend County and opened to traffic in April 2014.

Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority operates and maintains Segment D from US 59 South to south of Fry Road.

TxDOT operates and maintains the portion of Segment D from south of Fry Road to I-10 West.

Related studies - SH 99 from Highland Knolls/Bay Hill Boulevard to South Fry Road

TxDOT in coordination with Fort Bend County is developing preliminary plans to improve SH 99 from Highland Knolls/Bay Hill Boulevard to South Fry Road. The proposed project would add continuous two-lane frontage roads along sections of SH 99 between Highland Knolls/Bay Hill Boulevard and South Fry Road. A section of frontage road would be constructed along SH 99 northbound from South Fry Road to Highland Knolls/Bay Hill Boulevard.

TxDOT held a stakeholder meeting on June 30, 2023. Stakeholders included homeowners associations (HOAs) and Municipal Utilitiy Districts (MUDs).
