TxDOT is planning to realign and reconstruct I-20 in Eastland County from approximately 3.5 miles east of Loop 254 to .5 miles east of SH 16. This 3-mile project will improve safety by reducing the steep grade and improving the curves at Ranger Hill.

Improvements to address safety and mobility include:

  • Up to three 12-foot traffic lanes in each direction with 10-foot shoulders
  • New continuous frontage roads
  • Safety rest area entrance/exit ramps

Schedule

  • Public Meeting Two - Nov. 19, 2015
  • Completion of schematic - October 2016
  • Right-of-way map complete - March 2016
  • Public Hearing - Aug. 10, 2016
  • EA complete - October 26, 2016
  • Construction plans complete - December 2017
  • Letting Date - March 2017
  • Construction - Summer 2017
