Jerry Haddican serves as senior state legislative representative for State Legislative Affairs.

He has served the state of Texas for more than 15 years. Before joining TxDOT in December 2011, he was the director of state relations at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He also served as general counsel and legislative director for State Sen. Juan Hinojosa and was a drafting attorney at Texas Legislative Council, where he developed more than 1,000 legislative requests including bills, amendments and conference committee reports.

Haddican grew up in New Orleans and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he served as student body president. He graduated with honors from The University of Florida School of Law and is licensed to practice in Texas.

He is married to Kristin Benton and has two children.
