Coby Chase serves as director of Federal Affairs.

Chase is responsible for the agency’s broad federal portfolio, including congressional affairs, federal agency relationships and national organizations. He also oversees the International Relations Office and the Texas Transportation Forum program. TxDOT’s extensive international work includes border master planning, border crossing research, trade studies and assessing the state’s readiness when the Panama Canal expansion is complete.

Before TxDOT, Chase worked in government affairs capacities at the Universities Research Association’s Superconducting Super Collider (SSC) Laboratory and the Texas National Research Laboratory Commission.

A University of Texas Dean's Distinguished Graduate, he has been with TxDOT since 1994.
