Benito Ybarra serves as director of Audit.

Ybarra is responsible for the management of the Audit Office, which focuses on providing assurance that TxDOT's business processes are designed and operating effectively to meet agency goals and objectives.

Prior to joining TxDOT in 2011, Ybarra worked in the internal audit at Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation and Dell Inc. Ybarra holds a number of professional certifications, including Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner as a result of his more than 15 years of audit experience. Additionally, Ybarra is a current member of the Institute of Internal Auditors' Professional Issues Committee and is an active member of several additional professional organizations.

Hailing from Elk Grove Village, Ill., Ybarra grew up in Robstown, Texas, before moving to Austin to attend the University of Texas.
