Re-alignment of roadway expected to be complete next year
MIDLOTHIAN – Ground has broken on a TxDOT project that will improve safety on FM 1387 by removing two curves and straightening the footprint of the roadway.
The project is between Kensington Drive and Walnut Grove in front of Midlothian Heritage High School.
The City of Midlothian and Midlothian Independent School District are funding the project and the contract was awarded to Tiseo Paving, Co. with a winning bid of $4.09 million.
Although the project will not be complete until December 2014, the roadway is expected to be open to traffic by the time school opens in August of 2014.
