YOAKUM – TxDOT crews will be conducting a traffic switch on the US 77 Guadalupe River Project from Main Street to FM 1685. Currently there is northbound and southbound traffic on the newly constructed lanes.
Beginning at 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, the southbound traffic will be moved to the outside lane, and the northbound traffic will remain in the current location.
Once the traffic switch is complete, the inside lanes will remain closed to traffic and there will be one outside lane of traffic in each direction. This closure will facilitate finishing the construction of the center concrete barrier and tying it into the existing infrastructure on each end of the project. Upon completion, the northbound and southbound lane will be reopened to traffic.
The completion of the center concrete barrier wall will be at the end of February 2018, and the project is expected to be completed by May 2018.
TXDOT is asking drivers to continue to be cautious in the construction area.
