TYLER – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announces a speed limit change on SH 19N the Athens City Limits. The changes come as the result of recent speed studies conducted on the roadways.
According to TxDOT, the speed limit on SH 19N will decrease from 70 mph to 60 mph starting at the Athens City Limits going 0.589 miles north toward Canton. The new speed limit is designed to promote a more efficient traffic flow and will take affect once the signs are installed.
Motorists are warned to abide by the posted speed limits and other traffic control devices on this and all roadways.
