TYLER – The westbound lane of US 175 just west of Frankston has been closed this afternoon for emergency repairs. The eastbound lane is carrying two-way traffic until further notice.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the contractor of the US 175 construction project identified an unexpected slope and pavement issue just before noon. The problem appeared as the contractor was removing sheet pilings from behind the traffic barrier. The contractor immediately began taking steps to address the issue and will work around the clock, if needed, to make the necessary repairs. The westbound lane is closed from County Road 300 just west of the Frankston Cemetery westward to County Road 303.
Motorists can expect delays as the repairs are conducted with flaggers providing traffic control. Additional closures are also possible. Slow down and pay attention when traveling through this and all work zones.
