PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that changes to FM 3211 in Hunt County will occur Oct. 23.
As part of its State Spur 1570 improvement project, a bridge on the eastern portion of FM 3211 closest to State Highway 66 will be removed, and a portion of that road roughly .4 mile long will be permanently closed. The remainder of FM 3211 will tie into State Spur 1570, allowing traffic traveling from FM 36 to continue onto State Highway 66 and into Greenville, Texas, officials said.
To accomplish this work, the contractor will close the affected portion of FM 3211 on Oct. 23, 2017. The closure will remain in effect until approximately June 2018. Portable message signs have been placed on both ends of FM 3211 to inform the traveling public of this upcoming closure, officials said.
Motorists traveling in this area should remain alert and pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach and travel through this temporary work zone. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
