PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that pavement repairs on a section of Lamar Avenue in Paris are slated for Oct. 1-3.
Contractor R.K. Hall will perform milling and hot-mix overlay repairs on Lamar Avenue, from Loop 286 eastward to 42nd Street. Contractor crews will work at night, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning, to minimize traffic disruption for motorists and businesses along this portion of the road.
The repairs are scheduled to begin Oct. 1 and should be completed by Oct. 3, TxDOT officials said. The top layer of asphalt pavement in main lanes and turn lanes will be removed and replaced.
The work will require temporary lane closures, with work trucks entering and leaving work zones, so motorists are asked to slow down and be cautious of work vehicles. They should also obey flaggers on site who will be directing traffic and avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking or car audio or navigation systems.
