PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that Winding Road Construction of Bigfork, Minn., will begin concrete repairs on Loop 286 in Paris on Sept. 12.
The work is part of regular annual maintenance to this roadway. The contractor will begin this project on State Highway 19 inside Loop 286, between the loop and Jefferson Road. Once those repairs are completed, the contractor will move to locations along Loop 286 at FM 79, near Campbell Soup, and at Stillhouse Road.
TxDOT officials said these repairs will require the contractor to use alternating lane closures. Inside lane closures and repairs will be done first, followed by outside lane closures and repairs. This project will affect both east- and west-bound traffic on the loop at these locations.
Motorists are asked to pay special attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed as they approach work zones in these areas. They should also be prepared for brief temporary lane closures, and avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
