PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced a change in traffic flow for a portion of the north frontage road along Interstate Highway 30 in Hunt County.
Beginning April 26 traffic will become one-way (westbound) along the north I-30 frontage road from FM 1565 westward to the Hunt-Rockwall County line. The shift to one-way westbound traffic is part of construction phase 1 of the ongoing FM 2642 bridge replacement project now underway near Royse City, Texas.
That project runs from the Hunt-Rockwall county line to FM 1565 and will raise the vertical clearance of the underpass at I-30 and FM 2642. It will also improve mobility at the intersection by adding lanes and relocating entrance and exit ramps. The new underpass bridge will have a 22-foot inside shoulder, two 12-foot traffic lanes and 10-foot outside shoulders for east- and west-bound lanes. The underpass will have a left-turn lane and turn-around lanes.
More information is available on the project page.
