PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that motorists traveling on US 82 west of Paris on March 29 should be prepared to encounter a temporary work zone.
Crews will be out installing permanent traffic counters that were removed during the 2015 reconstruction of US 82. This work will occur about 1.5 miles east of the intersection of US 82 and FM 137, near Petty, Texas, and should be completed in one day.
Message boards will be in place to alert drivers to this work zone, and traffic will be shifted on the roadway while this work is underway. Motorists are advised to remain alert while driving in this area, obey all traffic controls on site, and reduce their speed while approaching and traveling through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
