PARIS – The Texas Department of Transportation today announced that Leland Cox of Greenville, Texas, will serve as safety officer for its nine-county Paris District in Northeast Texas.
“We are fortunate to have Leland Cox assume leadership of this important aspect of our work in the Paris District,” said Noel Paramanantham, TxDOT district engineer based in Paris. “He will begin his new duties effective Jan. 9, 2017.”
Cox has worked on TxDOT’s safety staff in the Dallas District since 2013, and has lead that district’s safety team since 2016. He graduated from East Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness in 1987 and worked in private industry for 30 years, focusing on various elements of safety.
Cox and his wife, Dena, have three children: son Brad and his wife, April, live in Longview; daughter Jodi and her husband, Blake, reside in Prosper, Texas; while son Tony lives in Edmond, Okla. Cox enjoys traveling and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren Makenzie and Eli.
