PLAINVIEW – Work on a $2.8 million Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) project to improve curb ramps along several state roadways in Lamb and Hale counties, including the city of Plainview, is set to begin the week.

The project will add or upgrade ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards at various locations on BU27, FM400, SH194, US70 and FM3466, said Stevan Perez, P.E., TxDOT Littlefield Area engineer overseeing the project.

“Project limits on SH 194 (Quincy Street) are from W. 20th Street to W. 4th Street. Work will begin at the W. 20th Street intersection on Wednesday, Oct. 11,” Perez said. “Motorists should anticipate various daytime lane closures and are advised to slow down as they enter the work area for their safety and the safety of the workers.”

Encino Landscape Inc., of Cleveland, Texas is the project contractor.
