April 22, 5 a.m.-April 23, 5 p.m. – Nighttime US 59 Loop-International Boulevard and both turnarounds closure for International Boulevard overpass for beam installation work – International Boulevard north- and southbound traffic use US 59 Loop turnarounds at McPherson Road, US 59 (Saunders Avenue) and Shiloh Drive (light vehicle option only) – anticipate travel delays

LAREDO – Weather permitting on April 22, 2017 at 5 a.m. to April 23, 2017 at 5 p.m., International Boulevard north- and southbound traffic crossing at US 59 Loop (formerly Loop 20) and the US 59 Loop east-to west and west-to-east turnarounds at International Boulevard will be closed due to beam installation work at said intersection.

Please seek alternate routes and expect travel delays.

Recommended detours for north- and southbound International Boulevard traffic are as follows:

  • International Boulevard southbound traffic detour to US 59 Loop west to east turnaround at McPherson Road
  • International Boulevard northbound traffic detour to south to north turnaround at US 59 (Saunders Avenue)
  • Option - Light vehicles only can use U-turn traffic signal at Shiloh Street (no tractor trailer U-turns allowed)

Advanced message signs notifying the traveling public will be placed all along the detour routes.

Note – Both US 59 Loop east-to-west and west-to-east turnarounds at International Boulevard will remain closed after weekend work and until further notice in order to facilitate continued project construction.

The traveling public is urged to observe all safety signs and traffic control devices in the work zone while looking out for the safety of work crews and construction flaggers.
