JOHNSON COUNTY – Weather permitting, various Johnson County roadway shoulders will be improved through seal coats. TxDOT’s seal coat program is the department’s most cost-effective means of maintaining the Texas highway system. A seal coat can extend the life expectancy of a given roadway by many years, at a fraction of the cost of resurfacing.

Intermittent closures will be necessary. Motorists can plan their travel by viewing information on the closures at DriveTexas.

We appreciate motorist’s patience while crews complete this maintenance work. During construction, alternate routes are encouraged, and message boards will be directing motorists in the construction zone. Motorists are asked to avoid driving on the shoulders in the work zone.

TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists, and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this work as quickly and as safely as possible.
