TxDOT Awards Contracts for Dallas County Projects

DALLAS – In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and address congestion, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved four contracts in Dallas County including a project to build a two-lane westbound frontage road on I-30 between Cockrell Hill Road and Westmoreland Road in Dallas. The contract was awarded to Austin Bridge and Road, LP for $9.8 million.

“Like all of Texas, the urban areas of our state will continue to see rapid population growth,” said Commissioner Victor Vandergriff. “Relieving congestion on our roadways not only improves our quality of life, but also enhances economic opportunities. We are pleased to partner with state and local entities who share our vision of keeping Texas moving.”

Other contracts awarded:

  • Dallas County:
    • Pedestrian structures and sidewalks on Loop 354 (Harry Hines Boulevard) between Manana Drive and Royal Lane. The $4.8 million contract was awarded to The Fain Group, Inc.
    • Replace bridge and approaches on Pleasant Run Road at Bee Branch in Desoto. The $3.1 million contract was awarded to Iowa Bridge and Culvert, LC.
    • Reconstruct four-lane undivided roadway into a four-lane divided roadway on Whitlock Road from I-35E to Old Denton Road in Carrollton. The $3.4 million contract was awarded to Tiseo Paving Company.

Construction start dates will be established in upcoming meetings between TxDOT and the contractors.
