COLLIN COUNTY — In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and address congestion, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved three contract awards for projects in Collin County including the reconstruction and widening of US 380 from County Road 73 (Lovers Lane) to FM 2478 (Custer Road) in western Collin County. The four-lane rural road will be widened to a six-lane divided urban roadway. The contract for the 3.4 mile project was awarded to Mario Sinacola and Sons Excavating, Inc. for $17.2 million.
“Like all of Texas, the urban areas of our state will continue to see rapid population growth,” said Commissioner Victor Vandergriff. “Relieving congestion on our roadways not only improves our quality of life, but also enhances economic opportunities.
