ATLANTA – A section of SH 300 in Southeastern Upshur County will receive a new riding surface this summer according to plans approved in April by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
“We will be resurfacing a 4.3-mile section of the highway from 3 miles north of FM 726 to FM 3358 South” said Bill Compton, area engineer for TxDOT in Mount Pleasant.
Madden Contracting Company of Minden, Louisiana, was awarded the contract for the construction project with a bid of $2.3 million.
Work on the project should begin in June and take about five months to complete, Compton said.
