Proposed project would increase capacity, enhance safety
ABILENE – TxDOT Abilene is hosting a public hearing at Cooper High School’s South Cafeteria Tuesday, Nov. 14, to present planned improvements and receive public comments regarding a proposed project along FM 89 in Abilene. Displays will be available for viewing at 5 p.m., and a formal hearing will begin at 6 p.m.
The proposed project includes the reconstruction and widening of FM 89 from near Chimney Rock Road to US 83 (Winters Freeway), additional pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, installation of raised medians, dedicated left-turn lanes, and other enhancements. By increasing capacity and access management, travelers will be able to navigate this busy stretch of roadway in a safer, more efficient manner.
Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this hearing to learn more about the project and submit comments.
