Purpose: A public meeting to solicit public comments and input for the FY 2012 November Revisions to the 2011-2014 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and Revisions to the 2012 Unified Transportation Program (UTP).

The STIP is a mechanism used by TxDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to fund projects for the next four years and includes all federally funded projects.

The UTP is a comprehensive ten-year plan for the development and construction of State of Texas transportation projects and includes specific funding levels for each fiscal year.

Description: The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program:
  • Reflects the federally funded transportation projects in the FY 2011–2014 Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) for each Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in the state.
  • Includes both state and federally funded projects for the nonattainment areas of Beaumont, Dallas–Fort Worth, El Paso, and Houston.
  • Contains information on federally funded projects in rural areas that are not included in any MPO area, and other statewide programs as listed.
